This statement refers to my freelance work, your interactions with my website, social media channels, and online messaging.

Sending an email or using the online form

When you contact me using the online form or via email, I will receive and store the following information about you: name, email address, the message you send, any other contact information that you or your email service provide, and any attachments. I collect this data on the basis of ‘consent’ and ‘legitimate interest’. Click here to read more about the different legal reasons for collecting data. A statement of consent accompanies the online form; everybody who emails me sends the information of their own free will and should expect me to process it to reply. I’ll use your information to send a helpful response, and it won’t be shared with anybody else unless I get your permission first. Your information will be stored in my email inbox until it is no longer needed, or until you request that I delete it. I might contact you again in the future if I believe it’s relevant to your initial inquiry, or that you will be interested.

Social Media

Data collected through external social media platforms are subject to the individual Privacy Policy held by each platform respectively. I will never request personal data through social media platforms.

External Links

I aim to include external links on my website and social media pages which are safe and relevant. However, I cannot always verify the content of any externally linked websites. Visiting these external sites is entirely at your own risk, and I cannot be held responsible for the implications of viewing this content. I will never knowingly link to external sites which could put your data at risk.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Your data rights

  • You have a right to be informed about the collection and use of your data – at the time of collection.
  • You can request to see what information I have about you – at any time.
  • If the information I hold is incorrect, you can let me know at any time – and I have one month to respond.
  • You can request that I delete any information I have about you – at any time.
  • You can request that I restrict my use of your data. A request to restrict processing means data cannot be used but will continue to be stored.
  • For any information which you have directly provided, you have the right to transfer this data and use it again somewhere else. This does not apply to anonymous data.
  • You have a right to object to the processing of your data.
  • You have additional rights when anybody uses your data to make decisions using an automated system or uses it to predict your behaviour/make inferences about you (“profiling”). I do not use your data for either of these purposes.

Access requests

If you wish to view, change, remove, or restrict any information belonging to you, can contact me at any point. This can be verbally or in writing. I am obligated to respond to this request within a month, free of charge. I am legally obligated to comply with this request unless there are exceptional circumstances.
